On 19th September 2019 Deputy First Minister John Swinney announced that Parts 4 and 5 of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act would be repealed.
The Scottish Government’s statutory Named Person scheme would have undermined parents’ responsibility for their own children and allowed state officials unprecedented powers to interfere with family life. That’s why so many said NO2NP.
